Overhead Cranes
Efficient and Safe Industrial Load Handling with Modern Trading Overhead Travelling Cranes
Explore Modern Trading Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) Crane Models
- Our Overhead Electric Crane Systems are meticulously designed by our in-house engineers, adhering to ISO, FEM, and DIN standards. The selection of mechanisms is tailored to meet specific lifting and running speeds as well as the required working class.
- The bridge beam deflection is meticulously calculated to a maximum of 1/1000. Our industrial overhead crane brakes feature high-moment, spring-pressed negative brakes, providing twice the torque of the maximum capacity for enhanced safety and performance.
- The travelling groups are equipped with wheel blocks cast from GGG50 material. These wheel blocks are precisely machined using state-of-the-art technology, ensuring extended bearing and wheel life while accommodating high-speed operations. The drive system employs a multiple-wedge mechanism to minimize wear on the wheel hub and drive shaft.
- Modern Trading’s proprietary Wheel Blocks facilitate easier assembly and disassembly. With a quieter, more sensitive bearing system compared to alternatives, they enhance the durability of the roller, wheel, and gearbox. Additionally, the adjustable wheel center allows for +/- 15 mm movement to compensate for rail defects.
- Bridge crane beam analyses are performed using ANSYS software as needed.
- In Modern Trading overhead travelling cranes, double speed is achieved through a double-speed electric motor, with enhanced sensitivity provided by a frequency inverter. The use of motor drivers, specifically frequency inverters, ensures precise start and stop control while maintaining load safety.
- The brakes are high-torque, spring-loaded negative brakes, delivering twice the torque of the maximum capacity for superior performance.
- EOT crane end carriages feature wheel blocks cast from GGG50 material. These wheel blocks are processed with the latest technology, ensuring extended bearing and wheel life while facilitating high-speed operations. The multi-wedge system driving the wheel hub minimizes wear on both the wheel hub and drive shaft.
- The remote controls for the electrical overhead cranes utilize advanced radio frequency technology. Overload protection is managed by a load cell integrated into the crane systems. All steel materials used in our cranes are DIN EN 10204 3.1 certified.
- The welds on bridge beams produced using quality-certified sheets are inspected through non-destructive testing methods, and dimensions are verified according to TS-EN-1090 tolerances. All external welds are executed using submerged arc welding robots.
- The sandblasting and painting processes follow global standards during crane bridge manufacturing. Depending on the crane’s operating conditions, specialized coatings or paints can be applied, and custom colors can be provided upon request.
- Cranes can be operated via push buttons that move along the girder, remote control, or from a cabin. For the current receiving festoon line along the travelling bridge, a single or double line C profile cable trolley system can be chosen, while an I profile cable trolley system is available for heavier conditions.
- For the hall-length current receiving system of overhead cranes, options include over-wire electrical installation, closed busbar installation, or C profile cable trolley electrical installation.
- All of our overhead travelling cranes are designed to meet occupational health and safety standards and procedures. Each crane includes a maintenance platform in compliance with these standards.
- Movement limiting switches are utilized in all directions, including rotary limit switches for crane lowering and lifting movements and cross limit switches for the crane trolley and bridge travelling group. All limit switches feature a double-stage system with slow-down and stop logic.
- Shock-absorbing plastic-based wedges are used at the ends of the crane travelling gear to reduce impact. Standard protection features in all our EOT cranes include overload protection, residual current relay, PTC thermistor, collision sensor, emergency stop button, and audible/light warning siren.
- The operating manual, electrical diagram, and manuals for all electrical and electronic components are provided to the customer in the crane’s electrical panel.

What is an Overhead Crane?
An overhead crane is an optimal solution for transporting heavy loads within enclosed spaces, such as industrial facilities and factories. It moves loads vertically via a hoist and horizontally along a fixed rail. Additionally, it offers mobility along its own girder through a trolley system. Unlike cranes with legs, overhead cranes are typically mounted on structural carrier elements or specialized metal constructions.
Components of an Overhead Crane
An overhead crane system primarily comprises four key components:
- Carrier Girders: The main support beams that span the area.
- Trolley with Hoist: The trolley supports the hoist, which is responsible for lifting and lowering loads. The hoist also enables horizontal movement along the crane.
- Motors: These drive the crane’s movement along the rails.
- Hook Block: The assembly that attaches to the load.
Manufacturing Time for Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes
Electric overhead travelling cranes are customized to meet specific needs, such as the characteristics of the installation site, required lifting capacity, movement range, and structural dimensions. Due to these variables, production times vary significantly and are not fixed. Each crane is uniquely designed and manufactured based on detailed calculations. As a result, providing a standard production timeline is challenging. To get an accurate estimate for your custom crane, please contact our sales department.
Overhead Crane Pricing
Similar to production timelines, overhead crane pricing is not standardized. To obtain a cost estimate tailored to the specific features of the crane you need, please use our quotation form. Our representatives will respond promptly to provide you with the necessary information.
